Career
He made his acting debut in 2002 when he played a role in the Tamil movie called “Thulluvadho Ilamai,” which was directed by his father Kasturi Raja. His breakout film with Kadhal Kondein In 2003 was produced by his brother Selvaraghavan, where he astonished the audience with his powerful portrayal of the character. Dhanush’s Aadukalam role won him the National Film Award for Best Actor which consolidated his position in Indian Cinema.
Some other films that got him accolades are Pudhupettai in 2006, Aadukalam in 2011, Maryan in 2013, Velaiyilla Pattathari in 2014, and Asuran in 2019. In addition to acting, he is a celebrated playback singer as well.
