Arijit Singh is a famous musician and playback singer among Indian musicians. Arijit is known worldwide for his melodious voice along with his singing skills and his ability to perform songs in different musical genres. Arijit was born on 25 April 1987 in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, India in a Bengali family.
He has sung as a singer in many Bollywood films, Arijit Singh is one of the best singers of his generation, Arijit has won many awards with his singing, he has received nominations for many awards including the National Film Award and seven Filmfare Awards.
Arijit started his singing career in 2005 by participating in the reality show Fame Gurukul. Arijit made his Bollywood singing debut in 2011 with Sam Bhatt and Mohammed Irrfan in the song “Phir Mohabbat” composed by Mithun for the film Murder 2.

Wife
Arijit tied the knot with his childhood friend Koel Roy in 2014. Both Arijit and Koyal were suffering the pain of the breakdown of their first marriage, his wife Koyal Roy has a daughter from her first marriage.
Arijit and Koyal got married following Bengali traditions in 2014 with the consent of their families. From their marriage, Arijit became the father of 2 sons and now he has a stepdaughter and 2 sons. Arijit and Koyal are living a happy life in their family today.
Family
Arijit was born in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal to Sikh father Kakkar Singh and Bengali Hindu mother Aditi Singh. His father’s family came from Lahore during the partition of India. Arijit’s mother Aditi was also adept in singing and playing the tabla. Arijit’s mother and uncle both were very good tabla players. She belonged to a singing family. His aunt and grandmother took training in Indian classical music.
Due to Arijit’s great interest in music, his parents inspired him towards music from a young age and trained him professionally. Arijit started taking training from the Hazari brothers at the age of just 3 years. Arijit also received a scholarship at the age of 9 for singing training in Indian classical music.
Education
Arijit received his primary education from Raja Bijay Singh High School and for his graduation, he completed his Pathan by studying at Shripat Singh College affiliated to Kalyani University. Due to Arijit’s spiritual interest in music, his parents got him music training from the Hazari brothers from the age of 3 years. He learned Indian classical music from Rajendra Prasad Hazari and tabla playing from Dhirendra Prasad Hazari.

Career
Arijit Singh started his singing career at the age of 18 by participating in the reality show Fame Gurukul aired on Sony Entertainment Television in 2005. Arijit was one of the six top contestants in the reality show Fame Gurukul, but his journey could not progress further in that show.
During the show, he met Hindi film producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali who recognized his talent and recorded a song “Yun Shabanmi” to be used in the film Saawariya, but due to some reason the film script was changed and Arijit’s song was never released.
After the show, Arijit was signed by Kumar Taurani for an album but once again he failed and his album was never released.
In the same year, another reality show ’10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil’ was aired on Sony Entertainment, Arijit once again took part in the show with the permission of his gurus and became the winner of this show, he got 1 million rupees in the show, from which he Built his own recording setup and started music programming. He became his assistant music programmer along with Pritam Chakraborty, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar and Mithun.
Working with Pritam inspired him to produce and program music himself and he became one of the best music producers.
In 2010, she worked with Pritam on the songs of three films, Golmaal 3, Crook and Action Replayy.
In the year 2011, Arijit made his musical debut in Bollywood films with the song “Phir Mohabbat” from Murder 2. This song of Arijit was recorded in 2009.
The song “Phir Mohabbat” from the film “Murder 2” brought heights in his career, after this song Arijit became famous, this song of Arijit is still included in the list of all time hits. He also received many awards for this song.
He also dubbed for Pritam in the song “Raabta” from Agent Vinod (2012), and in several other films such as Players, Cocktail and Barfi.
Arijit sang the song “Uska Hi Bana” for Chirantan Bhatt in 1920: Evil Returns. After this he sang “Dua” in the film Shanghai.
He went on to sing as a lead singer in the film Aashiqui 2, the song “Tum Hi Ho” from this film earned him many awards including the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer.
Till now, Arijit has won the hearts of fans with his songs in Hindi language films as well as in other languages like Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati and Malayalam speaking films. In terms of numbers, he has sung more than 2000 songs so far.
The magic of her voice can be heard in the films released in the year 2024, like “Raat Akeli Thi” from Meri Christmas, “Dil Bane Waleya” from Fighter, and the viral song of the year, “Sajni” from Lapata Ladies. His voice can also be heard in other films like Yodha, Amar Singh Chamkila and Srikanth. He has sung the songs “Satyanas” and “Tu Hai Champion” in the recently released film Chandu Champion.
