Manisha Koirala is a Bollywood Indian actress. She was born on 16 August 1970 in Kathmandu, Nepal to Prakash Koirala and Sushma Koirala. Manisha is famous for her work in Hindi language Indian films.
Manisha started her Bollywood career with the Hindi film – Saudagar (1991). The film was a box office blockbuster and a silver jubilee success across India. At the 37th Filmfare Awards, Saudagar received eight nominations and won two awards, including Best Director for Subhash Ghai.
Manisha is famous for playing leading roles in commercial and indie films in the 1990s and early 2000s, she has won several awards, including four Filmfare Awards. Received the second highest honor, Order of Gorkha Dakshina Bahu, by the Government of Nepal in 2001.

Manisha Koirala studied at Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya till class 10 while living at home in Varanasi. To pursue her dream of becoming a doctor, she came to Delhi and took admission in Army Public School (APS), Dhaula Kuan New Delhi campus.

Career
In September 1999, she was selected to represent India as the UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador. She co-authored a book titled Healed, detailing her battle with ovarian cancer. Participated in relief efforts in the 2015 Nepal earthquake and the same year he was named UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador for Nepal.
Manisha Saal established the Manisha Koirala Cancer Education Fund in 2020 with the help of Global College International Kathmandu. It aims to provide educational scholarships to children of cancer patients and survivors coming from low-income families.
She experimented with acting in the 1989 Nepali film Pheri Bhetaula during the break after his board exams. Teaming up with Arvind Swamy, Koirala made her Tamil film debut with the 1995 political romance Bombay, directed by Mani Ratnam.

Manisha Koirala secretly married Nepalese businessman Mughal Samrat Dahal, who was seven years younger than her. Then in the year 2012, the actress was also affected by cancer and in the same year they both got divorced.
Regarding her marriage, Manisha said “If you are in a bad relationship, it is best to end it. There is no resentment. I do not blame myself for rushing into marriage before realizing that I was not ready for it. I completely accept it. It’s no one else’s fault, it’s my fault.”

Manisha said in her interview that they met on Facebook, however, soon after their marriage, problems started appearing in their beautiful world and Manisha declared Samrat as her biggest rival.
Manisha Koirala Cancer
On 29 November 2012, the news of Manisha Koirala’s cancer became public. Manisha Koirala was suffering from ovarian cancer. Manisha did not know about her illness until she started feeling very ill. After that she went to a hospital in Kathmandu with her brother.
Her illness was discovered during her checkup at Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai. The specific nature of her illness was not disclosed but she later went to the United States for treatment. She underwent successful surgery on 10 December 2012 in America.
She remained in a New York hospital for months and had to undergo chemotherapy. She managed to overcome cancer and win the battle by mid-2014.
Family
Manisha Koirala belongs to a royal Nepali dynasty. Manisha is the granddaughter of former Prime Minister of Nepal Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala. Her father is Prakash Koirala and Her mother is Sushma Koirala.
Manisha has a brother whose name is Siddharth Koirala (Actor). Her father Prakash Koirala is a politician and former environment minister.
Manisha’s grandfather Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala and her two uncles Girija Prasad Koirala and Matrika Prasad Koirala both became politicians. Manisha Koirala’s grandfather served as the Prime Minister of Nepal from the late 1950s to the early 1960s.
